Volunteer Opportunities
The Frist Humanitarian Award was created in 1971 to honor outstanding individuals for their humanitarian and volunteer activities. Named in honor of Dr. Thomas F. Frist (1910-1998), the founder of HCA, this award recognizes individuals whose daily dedication and care giving epitomize the highest standards of quality and personal commitment.

The role of the volunteers at Dauterive Hospital, an affiliate of The Regional Health System of Acadiana, is an important one. They provide valuable services to the hospital by assisting the facility in achieving the hospital's goals: providing high quality, cost effective healthcare services and promoting these services in the community.
Volunteers achieve these goals by:
-
Augmenting and expanding the services provided by our staff.
-
Providing desirable supplemental services which contribute to total patient care and patient satisfaction.
-
Assisting the non-patient care departments by providing clerical support.
-
Helping to create and promote an understanding of the hospital and its services in the community.
If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at Dauterive Hospital, please call Bobbie Eastin, h2u and Volunteer Coordinator at (337) 374-4307.
All Dauterive Hospital volunteers receive a complimentary membership in h2u, Dauterive Hospital's healthcare program for adults.
*Valid for the duration of the volunteer commitment.
